En empruntant à Porphyre, pour intituler ce florilège, l’expression « questions homériques », nous entendons lui rendre son titre de noblesse. Il ne s’agit pas tant de savoir si l’Iliade et l’Odyssée sont l’œuvre d’un seul poète ou de plusieurs, ni si le nom d’Homère s’applique à un personnage historiquement existant ou non, que de percevoir l’intention de l’auteur dans tel vers ou tel passage.
