Using Special Relativity (SR) as a starting point, then noting a few empirical 4-Vector facts, one can derive the Principles that are normally considered to be Axioms of Quantum Mechanics (QM). Since many of the QM Axioms are rather obscure, this seems a more logical and understandable paradigm than QM as a separate theory from SR, and sheds light on the origin and meaning of the QM Principles.
